Appointments for the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth 
2022

Most Reverend Brian Joseph Dunn, Archbishop of Halifax-Yarmouth, announces the following appointments, which will be effective on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, unless otherwise stated:

Priest Appointments

Père Mathieu Agbaya, the priest in charge with the faculties of a pastor according to canon 517, §2 at Paroisse Notre Dame d’Acadie, will become Associate Pastor of Notre-Dame de l’Assomption Parish, Argyle Region.

Père Hospice Akoffodji, Associate Pastor of Paroisse Notre Dame d’Acadie, will become Moderator of Pastoral Care according to canon 517, §2 for Paroisse Notre Dame d’Acadie, Clare Region. He will continue to provide pastoral care for the students at Université Ste-Anne.

Rev. Gregory Agyeman, Associate Pastor of Saint John the Apostle, will become the Associate Pastor of Holy Apostles Parish, with Maryn Anderson, DMI as Parish Life Coordinator and Fr. Earl Smith as the Moderator of Pastoral Care, according to canon 517, §2.

Rev. Keith Billard, Associate Pastor of Corpus Christi Parish, will become Pastor of Saint John the Apostle.

Rev. Ronald Cairns, is appointed to hospital chaplaincy at QEII Health Sciences Centre, effective immediately.

Rev. Mark Cherry, will continue to provide pastoral ministry through the Sacred Heart Evangelization and Healing Ministry and assist the faith communities of All Saints Parish, in collaboration with Rev. Charles Nwachukwu Offor with the celebration of the Eucharist at least one weekend per month.

Rev. Gerald David, Pastor of Divine Mercy, Dartmouth, will become Pastor of Saint André Bessette, Enfield.

Rev. Rob Elford, in addition to his role as Pastor of Stella Maris Parish, is appointed to provide sacramental support to the Mission to Seafarers.

Rev. Jim O’Connor, Pastor of Saint John the Apostle Parish, will become Pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish, Truro.

Rev. Paul MacIntosh, FoH, Associate Pastor of Holy Apostles Parish, will become part-time hospital chaplain at QEII Health Sciences Centre. As part of this appointment, he will engage in the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Program.

Rev. Yves Marchildon, CC, Interim Pastor of Holy Trinity Parish will become Associate Pastor of Holy Trinity Parish, Lower Sackville effective June 1, 2022.

Rev. Dariusz Miskowicz, Pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish, Truro will be leaving the Archdiocese to take up ministry in another diocese.

Rev. Robert Nicholas, a priest of the Eparchy of Chandra, India, will become Associate Pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dartmouth, effective June 2, 2022.

Rev. Francesco Pirisi, FoH, will begin a leave of absence for the purpose of pursuing further studies.

Rev. Vargheese Puthuparampil, IMS, who has been serving in the Diocese of Antigonish, will become Administrator of Divine Mercy Parish, Dartmouth.

Rev. Bryan Sabourin, CC, following a leave of absence, will resume his ministry as Pastor of Holy Trinity Parish, effective June 1, 2022.

Rev. Ben St. Croix, CC, Associate Pastor of Holy Trinity Parish, Lower Sackville, will return to Ottawa, effective June 1, 2022.

Rev. Joseph Thomas, Associate Pastor of Stella Maris Parish, will become Associate Pastor of Saint John the Apostle.

Rev. Michael Walsh, Pastor of Saint André Bessette, will become Associate Pastor of Corpus Christi Parish.

 Deacon Appointment

Rev. Mr. Grant McLean, FoH, is appointed for liturgical ministry at Saint Francis and Saint Clare of Assisi, Halifax and will participate in a ministry of diaconal service at that parish, effective immediately.
