Next week Canadian Catholics are invited to recognize: National Week for Life and the Family from May 7 to 14.
Started several years ago by the Canadian Bishops this week aims to help the faithful reflect on, pray for, and actively support family and life. The theme chosen for this year’s NFLW is Jesus’ words, “Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another” (John 13:34).
Some resources include:
- Last June the Archdiocese send four delegates to the World Meeting of Families: Michelynne and Simon Gomez and Ronnie and Melissa Lunn. They’ve written a report of their experiences (with resources). You can find that report by clicking here (pdf).
- The CCCB Standing Committee for Family and Life and its corresponding Office have prepared a Pastoral Toolkit that includes an official logo, daily prayer intentions and activities for families and parishes, catechesis, and pastoral suggestions for a family and life Mass.
- NFLW 2023 - Resource page on the CCCB website (English)
- SNFV 2023 - page ressource sur le site Web de la CECC (En français)
- Webinar: "Concrete Ways to Renew Practices of Family Holiness,"
The CCCB Office for Family and Life will host a free webinar on Saturday, 3 June 2023, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. (EDT). It will be facilitated by Msgr. Philippe Bordeyne, President of the Pontifical John Paul II Theological Institute for Marriage and Family Sciences (Rome, Italy).
