The Communications Office of the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth supports the vision and mission the Archbishop to spread the Good News
in the central and southwestern regions of Nova Scotia. This is done through a variety of media that includes print, electronic publications and website

News Service Summer Schedule
Please note the Halifax-Yarmouth News Service (HYNS), sent directly to inboxes of all subscribers weekly on Tuesdays, will shift to a summer schedule for the next two months.
During the summer, the HYNS will be published twice: July 14 and August 11.
The news service will resume its weekly schedule in September.
This week construction work will begin at St. Catherine of Siena Church on Bayers Rd. This church is part of St. Francis & St. Clare of Assisi Parish and is served by the Franciscans of Halifax. The parish wishes to share the following message about activity at the church during the construction period.
During the roofing project at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 9:00 a.m. weekday masses (Tuesday to Friday) will be celebrated at St. Stephen Church. The Friday 7:30 am Mass will also be celebrated at St. Stephen Church.
The Board of Directors of local Catholic bookstore, Veritas, sadly announces it will have to close at the end of September 2026. The store has proved Catholic books, gifts, and other liturgical supplies to the faithful in the local area for over 31 years. The announcement from the Board is below:
