    Three years ago the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth answered the call the provide shelter for those in need. This temporary program has become a ministry program as the need has increased.   Read about how this program has evolved in a recent update (pdf) and hear firsthand from a shelter occupant the great impact this program has had.

  • Webinar Series: A Great Symphony of Prayer

    The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) announced a two-part webinar series titled, “A Great Symphony of Prayer” as a means for the faithful to participate in the Year of Prayer which was announced by Pope Francis  on January 21, 2024.

  • Gaza Ceasefire Pilgrimage

    A global movement is travelling in prayerful solidarity with the people of Gaza. Kairos, member churches and Development &Peace Caritas Canada are organizing a Gaza Ceasefire Pilgrimage.- Participants will meet Sunday April 28 at 1:00 PM for a prayerful walk to call for a just peace.  The meeting point for the start of the walk will be the east side of the Commons on the sidewalk at Creighton Fields Gate, across from the corner of North Park and Nora Bernard Streets. People are welcome to join the walk at any point during the route.
