St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi Parish: Roofing Project at St. Catherine of Siena
This week construction work will begin at St. Catherine of Siena Church on Bayers Rd. This church is part of St. Francis & St. Clare of Assisi Parish and is served by the Franciscans of Halifax. The parish wishes to share the following message about activity at the church during the construction period.
During the roofing project at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 9:00 a.m. weekday masses (Tuesday to Friday) will be celebrated at St. Stephen Church. The Friday 7:30 am Mass will also be celebrated at St. Stephen Church.
The weekend masses, Saturday at 9:00 am and Sunday at 11:00 am and 7:00 pm are not impacted by this project.
The roofing project is scheduled to start on Wednesday, June 24 and is expected to last four (4) to six (6) weeks (weather permitting). The project includes both the church and the rectory. This means there will be scaffolding, supplies and equipment taking up some room in the parking lot area.
During this project, there will be no adoration at St. Catherine of Siena on Wednesdays and Fridays. However, adoration and confession on Thursday evenings will continue at St. Catherine during the project.
In addition to these changes, there will be no Mass on Tuesday, June 23rd as the Franciscans will be in meetings.
The Franciscans of Halifax will be participating in their annual Spiritual Exercises the week of July 6-10, 2026. There will be no weekday Masses during this time.
