Finding Rest
In a busy, anxious, and uncertain world, our Church is where we come to be strengthened, comforted, and renewed. Because our Church is firmly rooted in Christ, every person is welcomed, valued, and supported, no matter their age, story, or circumstance. It is a sanctuary.
The 2026 Archdiocesan Annual Appeal, Finding Rest, invites you to contemplate, participate, and share the work of our Church community with others so that they too can come to know the peace of Christ.
Starting in October and leading up to the Archdiocesan Feast Day on December 8th, we will be sharing stories and content that express how the Church has been a place of healing, support, and refuge in our lives. We want to highlight those moments, people and ministries that have touched your life in a meaningful way.
Sign up here or follow us on Facebook to share your own experiences, receive updates and get an invitation to our virtual November 30th Advent Retreat, Grace in an Instant.
Your financial gifts to the Archdiocesan Appeal support the Church’s mission by revitalizing ministries and pastoral care, nurturing vocations and faith formation for all ages, and extending Christ’s love to the most vulnerable through outreach projects. In gratitude for your support, 20% of every gift is returned directly to your local parish, strengthening both your local faith community and the Archdiocese as a whole.

The Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth is excited to announce the launch of our Youth Showcase: Creative Reflections, with the chance to win a $200 gift card! We are asking for youth ages 19 and under to help us answer the question “How has our faith community helped us through stress, pressure, loss, or difficult moments?”, using an original created work. Answers can range from artwork, poetry, written testimonies, music, and more! We invite youth to reflect on the role that their faith community has played in their lives.
Here are some questions to guide your reflections:
- Here are some questions to guide your reflections:
- How has your faith helped you as a student? Have you ever prayed before a big test or assignment?
- How have the friends you’ve made through church supported you in your life?
- What is your favourite part of Mass? What do you find the most calming?
Your responses will be posted on our website, social media sites, and shared as part of the Finding Rest: Archdiocesan Annual Appeal. We are very excited to share your thoughts and reflections on how your faith community has supported you! Along with your work, your first name, age, and parish may be shared. As the submissions will be posted to our wider community, a signed permission and distribution consent form is required for submissions. For youth under 18, this will also require a parent’s signature. Please see the attached form, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
